Pakistan's imports of overall machinery shot up to $4.631 billion in July-November 2016, up by 43.33 percent, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows. Growth in all kinds of machinery imports stand at $1.400 billion in July-November 2016 from $3.231 billion in July-November 2015, according to the statistics. Import of power generating machinery surged to $1.423 billion in July-November 2016 from $607.578 million in July-November 2015, up by 134.25 percent or $81.5671 million.

Textile machinery import mounted to $203.999 million in July-November 2016 from $189.905 million in July-November 2015, up by 75 percent or $14.094 million. The country imported $213.273 million of construction and mining machinery during July-November 2016 as compared to their import of $146.763 million in July-November 2015, higher by 45.32 percent or $66.51 million.
